I had a nurse refuse to treat me in post-op after an abdominal surgery when she found out I was trans. It was an emergency complication. Instead, she became upset and ran off shouting to the whole floor that she couldn't tell if I was a boy or girl.

It seems like most people complaining in this thread didn’t even read the article. It’s difficult for many transgender people to access basic, competent healthcare. Why would fixing that be controversial?

I believe it’s because she opposed court ordered gender assignment surgeries several times while in office.
