So-called conversion therapy is a horrifying and abusive practice. I applaud Puerto Rico's Governor @ricardorossello for banning it. I can’t support laws limiting peoples freedom to choose whatever psychological “therapy” they see fit, to seek for themselves. No matter how socially abhorrent such treatment may appear.

I understand your point as regards consenting adults. Unfortunately, that is not the impact of these laws which allow coercive "treatment" of children and juveniles. Also, as a doctor of 30+ years, I do not think quackery should be given the same regard as legitimate practice.
