This is likely one of the most important votes the Senate has done in the last 2 years. If POTUS is allowed to get away with bypassing the Constitution this time, he'll do it again. Next time he does, it could affect our own elections. Wouldn't put it past him. He's desperate.

If Congress was so concerned about listening to the will of the people they would not be so concerned with impeaching the president. Like you said let democracy take its will and support who the people picked as president.
