None of these programs EVER lift people out of poverty. Since the "war on poverty" began, all its done is create more poverty.

They often rely on these programs to keep people poor, in exchange for their political support.

On my way to San Francisco airport yesterday I passed at least 10 different "tent cities" of people living on the grass of exit ramps of Interstate 80. You can't help your own state of California how do you expect us to believe that you will help our country?

I still believe: “Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.” Mark Twain But there comes a time when programs like this make me wonder why I should work to earn more. It seems so counter to making a strong economy.

This is deceptive. The "Kamala" plan wouldn't be 96% to the bottom 50%, since the bottom 50% pretty much all qualify for HUD subsidies. Instead, it mostly benefits those who make $60-75K, and that is just above the median income.

And... I would venture to say that families who earn 60k or more, are trying to buy, not rent a home.
