The Oakland school system is a mess. The elementary schools are too small and should be consolidated to decrease administrative costs and budget funds aren't equitably distributed. With skyrocketing property values, Oakland can/should do better.

Teachers are hardworking, underpaid, and often buy classroom supplies out of their own money. This is a national disgrace, especially with so many corporations and billionaires dodging their fair share of taxes. This must change!

I stand with Oakland teachers, as well. Teachers need to be respected. They should be revered, paid well and listened to, afterall, they're on the front lines, in classrooms, not bureacrats. A teacher's job goes far past just teaching courses. Children's education are at stake.
