Would you support Medicaid buy-in, Senator? It could be expanded into full single-payer with minimal disruption and less up-front cost, and without eliminating people's current coverage if they like it.

I haven't had insurance for over five years now. Why? Two reasons. First, I can't afford it and second, I refuse to pay into a system that was built to profit off the ill health of others. Our health care system is scheme for CEOs to make bank off people's misfortune.

You got that right.

As long as EVERYONE understands Medicare is currently not FREE to people 65 and over. Approx. $140 is the monthly premium that covers 80% of medical costs. A rider to cover the remaining 20% and prescriptions has to be purchased. Medicare is not free.

It’s a heck of a lot better than $1,000 per WEEK. That’s what I pay for my family of 3. I’m self employed and work 7 days a week to try and keep up.

I pay $804/month for myself and 2 kids for medical insurance. I pay $100/month for dental. I have a $2,500 deductible per person. Please, please raise my taxes for health care and I will gladly give up my commercial, private health insurance.

Why not start with tort reform? The ridiculous insurance premiums due to legal threats and actual lawsuits cost 1/4 to 1/3 of all US healthcare costs! Then look to EU states like

or Holland for two tier systems. Don’t follow our lousy system here in
as it’s broken too !! -
Canada has overall satisfaction of 85%. Tort Reform is a good start, but the middle man (insurance companies) is killing us. Prices 4x what we charge in Canada. Hopefully it will all finally work out, it will be nothing short of a miracle.
