In Canada, our minimum wage is between 12 and 15 per hour. I can't imagine what it would be like to be so far below that. horrific.

Plus, Canada has universal health care like every other civilized country in the industrialized world and it costs exactly nothing to go to the doctor, have a child, break a leg, get cancer, suffer an overdose, get the flu.
