Here in Ohio the rate of minority INFANT mortality leads the country. A maternal care act would help that too because it would decrease prematurity, one of the main causes.
It’s abysmal that the rate of maternal mortality in the United States is now worse than it was 25 years ago. The Maternal CARE Act would address the implicit biases that exist in our system.

Both. Also restrictive Health care options. Here in Indiana over half our counties lack OBGYN practitioners. Thankfully they forced out so many PPs ( heavy sarcasm)

So no one appears to have actually seen these yearbooks before now? Northam swears he never saw it, the prez of EVMS says he didn't see them, and none of the other graduates of this "prestigious" school never noticed either?

For those on this thread that are woefully misinformed-as a country WE have no standardized system for logging/tracking maternal/infant morbidity & mortality. If you cannot get reliable data (which without a cohesive universal system is impossible)

You can’t identify issues without accurate data-you cannot institute best practices (that save lives) without accurate data. YES-legislation would fix this! Universal health care system could help address this!
