Minimum wage isn’t intended to be a full job, it’s supposed to be a starting point in the workforce. Why not focus on creating actual careers for people and not increasing minimum wage.
Right now, in 99% of the counties in America, if you are a minimum-wage worker working full time you cannot afford market rate for a one-bedroom apartment. That is unconscionable.

Bob, your argmt is a long-since obsolete trope. Min wage isn’t just kids/PTers & hasn’t been for a long time (if it ever was). The “lowest” jobs will always exist & somebody has to do them. Also, a low min wage (floor) gives employers room to pay low wages for all quad1 ees.

Not to mention not being able to have over certain amounts in assets so first/last months rent or a downpayment are downright impossible!

Illegal immigrants hold down minimum wage. Your social ideals raise taxes leaving less $$ from the wage. So you are the enemy to your sentence on both sides of the equation. Unreal.

Illegal immigrants don’t hold down min wage because they don’t get paid in the system...they get paid under the table. And it’s the largest corps that use immigrant labor illegally to cut costs. Start focusing on and regulating American corps and our problem is solved.
