Texas - No Income Tax; Higher Ed costs - low in comparison to most. Housing costs lower than northeast or CA; If you want to make it here - little will get in your way. Lots of Californians moving here.

Imagine if families didn't have a $400, $500 or higher cell phone bill. Imagine if TV programming, cable or satellite wasn't $200!! Back a few years ago, families could afford to put away savings and have a cushion in emergencies. Now, most of every paycheck pays bills!!

Your plan is a tax credit to help with rent costs. But it is incomplete. It does nothing to address why rents are going up nor does it address why jobs don’t pay people enough.
