Thank you! We teach because we love kids, not for the money. But it would be nice to make a decent wage to send our own kids to college AND take a vacation.

Please tell me the average teacher pay in Los Angeles. Please?
-
I’ve read that the average base salary in LA county is 67k. Taking into account they work 10 months of the year, that’s 80k/yr.

Please also stand with the School Nurses who are too few. As a pediatrician and LAUSD parent, I see the effects of this lack of school nurses everyday. How could there be an RN at a school for only 1 day a week? How do kids get meds and sick care? What about the other 4 days?

School nurses are front line pediatric and public health safety nets!

How many days a year does a teacher work? How much do they make. Bet the figure a decent wage for working half a year. Almost as good as a congressman. No, I am not PC.

Even during my recent “break,” I spent most days grading and planning. Perhaps you should talk to a teacher to see what we do and how much we do. The time off is well earned and needed. Working with kids is exhausting!

Both my daughters are teachers in inner city schools. Their students are blessed to have them. They spend their own money to supplement necessary supplies, and they give their kids the attention they crave and need. God bless our teachers.

I’ve been a social worker for 25 years and never had less than 2 jobs at a time. Let’s support all careers that serve, educate and empower. More than half of my staff have second jobs as well.
