He did shut it down, but who is keeping it shut down for less than 1% of the overall budget...that’s basis points of the budget!
One month ago at a meeting with Democratic leaders, the president said, “I am proud to shut down the government for border security...so I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down.” He did it and now 800,000 federal workers are suffering. Reopen the government.

Not JUST Federal workers but also HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of small businesses who will NEVER see any "back pay" for sandwiches, coffee, dry cleaning, oiul changes and on and on and on. Those vendors who serve communities with heavy federal employment.
