If only there were some way of distinguishing asylum seekers like her from illegal border crossers who claim asylum only when caught, regardless of eligibility. Perhaps some sort of barrier, so the folks in the second category are more likely apply legally and properly.

The asylum law is that one may present oneself anywhere in the U. S. And ask for asylum. They could fly into d.c. and ask for asylum there. Trump is violating the law.
