The longest government shutdown was in 1995-1996 and lasted 21 days. We’re on day 17. Enough. The House passed two bills to reopen the government. McConnell must bring them to the floor so we can get federal employees back to work.

Maybe the GOP should give up their salaries to pay the federal workers
....if fact I think that's what should happen! I know it's not enough but that way the GOP knows what it feels like... -
The federal workers SHOULD receive Retroactive Pay!!! They did not cause the Government to shutdown. I don’t understand how they do not get paid but members of Congress does.
