Getting another job isn't as easy as some people make it out to be. When the prospective employer finds out that this is a furloughed person applying, they likely won't hire them, knowing that they're going to leave eventually.

Also Federal jobs usually pay more than minimum wage. They average about $24 hour, which is much more of a living wage than $9.75 working at retail or fast food.

Literally my entire life I’ve been advised to set a little money aside for a rainy day. Fifty dollars a month, twenty-five dollars a month. It adds up, kids. Do it.
