What the chart doesn't show is the rising cost of Health Care, Housing & Education have eroded spending power of what money the lower 90% get. Nor does it talk about the thousands of profitable companies driven out of business in the 80s and early 90s by corporate raiding.
Income inequality doesn’t happen overnight. It happens gradually, such as by weakening unions or refusing to raise the minimum wage.
