All this does is foster a "me Vs you" mentality. It doesn't address the issue of how you ended up in that room in the first place. If you do find yourself in room of "people who look different" try to learn from them. Chances are you feel uncomfortable cause ur exposure is low
My advice to all young people who may find themselves in a room where there aren’t a lot of people who look like them — remember this: you are never alone. Wherever you are, there is an entire community behind you who are cheering you on to succeed.

That’s logical, but not necessarily applicable. Take it from the “different one” who got along just great with his co-workers, you have to deal with people - mainly those outside of our workspace, in my experience - who have to be handled. It’s like that.

That’s why what you look like should not matter. How you behave is what needs to matter. If we stopped pointing out our appearance to kids the idea that we are different would end. Try describing each other by character and actions instead.

I shouldn't but it does. Kids already understand differences, differences in and of themselves are not bad. The problem is the adults who assign negative bias consciously and unconscionsly to these differences, which children pick up on and act accordingly.pic.twitter.com/0W43VhruYg
