Is that all it is? Less than $8. Far out. Remind me why the rest of the world aspires to be like America? Oh yeah, we don’t...

Where I live in California it is $11.50. But $11.50 is still not a liveable wage.

OK, I have to point his out. The United States Postal Service is hiring "Laborer, Custodian" at $15.67 - $25.04. The Gov't pays that, but a Custodian in a local school district gets $7.55 - $9.75. How can they justify? We need fare wages "on the street", too. $7.25 = Poverty

How many times have members of the House and the Senate received pay raises in the same time period?
-
For the record, I did look it up. They have not received a change in pay rate, but are given cost of living increases. Which means if one entered either chamber in 2009, one's pay has gone from $174,000 per year to about $190,000 per year.

Minimum wage is not supposed to be a desired position. You work hard and excel at your job to be rewarded with better pay. Maybe those who are trying to live on minimum wage should continue to work hard and get a better wage. Not all jobs are created equal.

Minimun wage is supposed to be enough for a person to satisfy is basic needs... But it never is

If you will stop funneling in illegals, wages will organically rise on their own. Wages stay low because illegal immigrants will work for low wages. Eliminate cheap labor, and wages will go up drastically without involving the government.
-
That’s very off base. The wage doesn’t stay low because of immigrants. It stays low because of wealthy “homegrown” folks. Don’t believe the hype friend.

Check Canada. Check Ontario. Check British Columbia. The working poor spend their money in the community. The best way to improve the economy is a living wage.
