My heart aches to learn about the horrific shooting in Thousand Oaks on college night. Praying for the injured and the families of those killed who, like so many others, have lost their loved ones to gun violence. Leaders in Congress must act — not some day, but now.
I'm thankful for the heroic actions of law enforcement but heartbroken that they lost one of their own. Sgt. Ron Helus rushed into danger to save lives. A true hero.

True. I wish they'd report more about guys like him. Unfortunately, we mostly get to hear about cops who abuse their power, not the ones like Sgt. Helus who truly bring honor to their badge and uniforms. May he and all the others who died rest in peace.
Cops are heroes every day. Whether they’re in a situation like this or stopping a drunk or speeding driver.
Please stop being an Instigator he had a " gun" which he legally owned so stop Instigating. I feel for the family but the problem is more complicated and there is no easy fix for it. adding laws after laws only hurt the citizens that want to use them to defend them self.

Just more proof that Trump's assertion that these types of tragedies would not occur if there was a guard, protection, etc. is way off base. Once again, even a trained, experienced, armed professional is killed. I am sick of these horrible shootings.
