I'm been surprised at the number of young people who thought Clarence Thomas was the first African-American on the Supreme Court. It is not as surprising here in Texas due to our sad state of education and current Board of Education.

Thurgood didn't openly lie to get on the Supreme Court either. He had honor, something Kavanaugh is lacking in spades.

This is very timely! Thinking about what Thurgood Marshall represented and fought for compared to Brett Kavanaugh who "stands for women's rights" but has a sexual assault past. It's crazy to think that we were better off then than now.

Sen Harris, Thurgood Marshall spoke for the voiceless, fought for the defenseless, worked tirelessly for human rights. The fact that Clarence Thomas his complete opposite took his chair is a frightening testament to these perilous times, again a limited inquiry - keep fighting!

Part of a long-term plan by NAACP in 1920s, 1930s, to get law degrees young black scholars. Howard Univ. converted its night school law school to a full time school to rival Harvard’s,& young Thurgood Marshall enrolled. By 1950s had a LOT of experience and great lawyer,& my hero.

The Bush family replaced him with Clarence Thomas how cynical and insulting was that? Thomas had never even heard a single case in a Court of Law.!
