To date 37 states ratified the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), assuring that woman are equal to men. We need one more state for it to become an amendment to the constitution. It is sad that after all this time women are still not considered equal everywhere in the USA.

Let’s remember the Senators that voted against it in 2013, and if they’re up for re-election, kick them out!pic.twitter.com/0JtW4iZOTA

Stopping Non-Native predators from having no legal repercussions when they assault Native women on Tribal lands shouldn’t have been controversial.
#VAWA -
If it is done on tribal lands it should be tried in tribal courts. Otherwise stupid non native people might be going to the tribal lands doing stupid illegal things and running off and getting away with it.

Why do they pass this stuff with an expiration date?
-
It's a compromise from saner times that allowed a POTUS to get even controversial parts of his legislative agenda thru a hostile congress. By time it sunsets, opponents' whip counts might be more favorable. That's how they did in the assault weapons ban.
