As a properly convicted felon, I think what he is doing is awesone. I never read a book out of school until prison. I must have read hundreds of books in those 7 1/2 years. Still read every night. In fact, I'm putting the phone down. My story awaits me.

Libraries should be apart of every jail and prison. Recidivism rates are so damn high... because we're not into rehabilitation.

Bingo! Once your time is served, you deserve a chance to rebuild your life. The heavy restrictions facing them in the free world make it all too easy to revert back.

We loathe the first two words you used. We need to fix our longstanding BROKEN criminal justice system.

Unfortunately the system isn’t http://broke.It ’s working exactly what is designed to do lock black people up. It’s time to tear down the system and rebuild it for the better.

This is why the
@innocence Project is so near and dear to my heart! Can you imagine being convicted & imprisoned for something you didn’t do? Thank you John for not giving up on our system & for paying it forward & educating others instead!#RespectThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

This is an important cause and supporting it will change lives, I promise. My sons, 17 & 21 at the time went to jail. Not prison, so I sent them a lot of books at their desperate request. They weren't readers, but the youngest was hooked. I think reading is VERY important.

Inmates need every boost they can get, so that when they do get out, they have more advantages & opportunities. That will help reduce recidivism. Which helps them, & potential victims. I think they should get vocational training too, & access to a law library, by computer if need
