I worked in corporate America for 15 yrs. saw many “hiring freezes” and “spending freezes” - while execs got mega-bonuses and rode around in company planes/cars, the company would tell us not to use so many notepads

My wife worked for an HMO. The CEO made over 400K a year (and this was years ago). He sent a memo out to every department to ask them to make sure they didn't throw away paper clips and binder clips, because too much was being spent on office supplies. You can't make it up.

Not to mention they're threatening to cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits! I've worked hard for my SS and Medicare -- it was not given to me-- I EARNED IT!!!

Im not giving mine up without a fight. I dont think congress and senators should get paid in a shut down. When ever our pay gets cut so should theirs. I have worked 35yrs to keep what i worked for.
