I consider myself a Progressive, but... If I want to move in to a Park Ave. apartment, the landlord can only charge me 30% of my income? If I own rental property and the mortgage, taxes, and maintenance costs are more than my tenants income, too bad? More info please.

I pay around 60% of my income to live in a not-so-great neighborhood in a single room with kitchen and bathroom. I feel lucky to have a roof over my head, but there's no way to afford medical bills, insurance, car payments. I'm lucky if I get the basic necessities in.

Rent controls sound like a great idea but it will reduce housing in the long run, especially for the more disadvantaged. You can’t legislate price controls without creating shortages.
-
That's not true. Give developers tax incentives to build affordable housing.

I keep wondering why your wording continues to only say "families"? Single people vote, pay taxes, and live in poverty as well...so Im hoping that this bill is inclusive?

Cause it becomes a really cool talking point with families???_

What stagnant economy? It's the best it's ever been. Quit lying to people!

By what factor are you judging the economy by which to claim it's the best? Judging by the wages being paid to the average American, adjusted for inflation, the economy is stagnant.
