I have friends in Germany who pay a fraction for daycare as what I pay. It would be nice if things like that could be woven into the tax codes. I'm not holding my breath though.

I wouldn't hold my breath as long as this GOP-led Congress is in the majority. They are more concerned with making sure those with nannies are well taken care of. If there is a childcare tax credit, it will be offset by something else. Besides, they see it as a women's issue.

Isn’t that what the FMLA is for? Or does this situation not qualify?
-
Not every company offers fmla, and if they do it is up to the company to approve your request and it isn't a given. I was threatened with being fired as I stood for 7 days straight next to my child's crib in icu watching her battle complications from heart surgery

"Forced to choose between losing their job or caring for a sick child or parent"? Oh please, Kamala, get real. I think you're starting to believe your exaggerations. Nobody else is.

George...have you ever stood for 7 days at the crib if your child in icu and had your employer call to inform you that if you didn't come back to work asap you were fired? Did you ever battle cancer only to come back to work to find out the board was terminating you? It happens
