Do I understand it correctly that Trump is trying to use his/Sessions' policy of forced family separation as a bargaining chip in order to get the dems to agree to basically any immigration proposal quick? While simultaneously distancing himself from and lying about this policy?

Not only breaking up families, but now we hear there is no straight forward way of reuniting families. Some children may never be returned to their parents. This is a nightmare.
