If we are better than this, why are we allowing it to happen? The activists of other eras, notably the Sixties, would not have allowed this. What kind of a country are we that allows this? The same kind that put into office such a horrific semblance of a human as Donald Trump.

_Some_ of us _aspire_ to be better than this. But there are millions of Americans who enjoy making people suffer. American culture is violent, aggressive, and toxic. Sessions is a known white supremacist as is Miller. They should never have been permitted inside the WH.
-
Yes. American culture definitely has toxic aspects to it! I agree with your comment. Very sadly it is also true that some Americans like others to suffer. A manufactured scarcity mindset to divide and pit races against each other.

Not to illegals we haven't. And between 1930 and 1950, America’s foreign-born population decreased from 14.2 to 10.3 million, or from 11.6 to 6.9 percent of the total population, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. We're better when obey the law...and enforce it.
-
Better? 1930s was the Great Depression, followed by WW2 which saw the US put citizens in concentration camps. Yeah, that was much better. Speaking of obeying the law, isn't there an emoluments clause a certain POTUS isn't obeying?

Those in control of congress are not better than this. The GOP actually have the power to get a bill to stop this to a vote right now. Every day they do nothing is an indication of their full support of Trump and Session’s cruel policy of separating children from parents.
