I lost a friend, two children lost their mother and their father is in prison due to domestic gun violence, all because my friend wasn't happy in her marriage. Love is not ownership of another person, murdering someone who wants to leave you should never be an option.

The police didn't take it seriously when she called for help earlier that day.

Absolutely! In addition, "this epidemic of mass shootings " can contribute to destruction of families. It can affect family members' mental, physical and social well-being. In most instances, for various reasons, they don't have resources to seek assistance and support.

Furthermore, innocent family members are hurt/killed and don't know what the domestic disputes are about. We need intervention programs that help children and adults work through their anger/outrage. We need on-the job training to help workers detect abnormal behavior.

So? What’s your point, Sparky? Let me guess...take away guns from all law-abiding gun owners?

That violence is then impressed upon the children in the household. These experiences sow the seeds of the children’s own violent futures. And it goes on and on.

I once owned a hand gun. My ex held it to my head more than once when he was drunk. When he was out one day, I ran off and got rid of it (appropriately). Had I not owned a gun, that would have never happened.
