There’s a Rommel like thing going on with Saurfang. So, Rommel was held up as being a more simplistic, honourable guy after the WW2, with much of that being pushed by the allies in order to ease the German people back into the fold & give a character to rally around.

This somewhat created the ‘honourable German army’ story. (Also furthered by postwar German memoirs). Ofc WW2 is a far more serious topic, and I mean no disrespect - it’s just interesting to see art emulate history. I wonder if Blizzard had this in mind?

So, looking at Saurfang, they’re whitewashing some of his actions & putting the blame on Sylvanas, and are then holding him up as the symbol behind which postwar horde can rally. Interesting parallels!
