Where does this alignment chart come from? I’m used to the D&D one of good, neutral, evil vertically and lawful, neutral, chaotic horizontally. I’m having a hard time understanding how you can be kind and evil or good and cruel at the same time...

I just found it while browsing the internet and thought it was a cool twist on the normal chart. And honestly I know a lot of people and fictional characters that fit this chart better than the D&D one, myself included.

MCs: 1. Full on kind hero, occasionally forced to do some anti-hero stuff. 2. Kind hero, but by no means a disney princess 3. Kind neutral bordering on kind evil. (Reader interpreted)
-
Antags: 1. Kind evil bordering cruel good. Has beliefs sets from both. I think. He’s hard to place honestly. 2. All forms of evil and all forms of cruelty. The only certain thing that can be said of this villain is that they are evil.

Calinthe is Kind-Good, but slides into Neutral-Good territory on occasion if she'd dealing with less-than-virtuous people. Kamiko fits into Neutral Evil. "It's just business" and "knows the value of a life down to the penny" is surprisingly accurate.

Neutral good vs kind evil. A fun match up! Though my villain is an off-screen back-of-the-mind sort of threat. Feels more man-vs-nature or man-vs-god than a traditional personified villain. Villain's still a person, just doesn't play a particularly person-like role in this tale.

My other MC (two sets of MC+villain in this WIP) is more conflicted and his villain more sympathetic. That pair is cruel neutral vs cruel good with the MC not being the "good" one of the pair. He does a lot of growing.

Enei and Naili are definitely Kind-Good. Tima shifts between Kind-Good and Neutral Good. His nature is Kind Good but he knows sometimes you have to get your hands dirty. Sunna for now is True Neutral until she figures herself out. Zava is Neutral Good. Akiska is Cruel Good.
-
The big bad is definitely cruel evil but the other antagonists especially Ramsei fall into Kind Evil
