And yet, you said that Johnson ruined his reputation by writing the article. If you had said "by publishing" then you would have been referring to the paper, but instead you referred to the reputation of the writer.

I can’t. You are literally trying to tell me what my tweet meant. It’s just the epitome of silliness.

I am telling you what your tweet says, not what it means. What I think happened is you made a tweet, and then when people made fun of you for thinking this hurt Adam's reputation, you retroactively tried to make a bad justification for why you said something less dumb.

I wouldn’t characterize the way you did. Though I will say the general gist of what you’re saying is possible. Adam can rest assured that most people in SF didnt know who he even was until he decided to involve himself in local SF issues and politics

I promise that most people in SF still have no idea who he is, because most people don't read the SF chronicle.

The pt about not knowing who Adam is could be true. But the Chronicle is the main local paper San Franciscans read.

I'm not contending that people are reading some other local paper, I'm saying that most people don't read the SFC. SFC circulation has been dropping for decades and was less than 250k in 2009. The population of just SF proper, not even Oakland/Daly or the greater bay is 875k.

..... Yes. It is. I'm not calling the SF chronicle management stupid or something. I'm saying that an opinion piece in the SF chronicle won't bring Adam Johnson to citywide attention.

It already has and not in a favorable way.

Again, I'm directly disputing your claim that an opinion piece in the SFC would result in the majority of the people in the city having any opinion at all, because most of them will have literally no contact with this article or anything else in the SFC chronicle this week.
