I really hate how they're giving people 3 strikes at once. Doesn't that defeat the purpose? Isn't the first one supposed to be a warning to take down the videos that violate the rules and change your behavior? Especially when you've had the videos up for years without any issues.

Exactly... there is no process, no “hey you need to fix this”, it’s just people waking up to years of hard work thrown in the toilet

Someone needs to figure out a way to make a YouTube competitor. Google constantly suppressing their competitors makes it hard. I feel like we're on the verge of Google being declared a monopoly; though none of the people in Congress seem to understand how the internet works.

There's been other alternatives to Youtube throughout the years, http://Vid.me being the best one but no ever wants to use them. There's no audience on it because there are no creators on it, and there are no creators on it because there's no audience.

There’s no creators on http://vid.me because it no longer exists. I was so gutted. I had an OK following on there.

Well now yeah. When it was still up, creators we're too scared to use it. They'd rather sit around and complain about YouTube than take a risk and actually do anything. If a group a semi large channels switched over to a new platform they'd bring a sizable audience with them.

I think if a platform could show that having a few pools of advertisers works, people would switch. The other issue is..Are advertisers going to take the plunge unless it already has an audience on it?
