It's good that @WHO is considering experimental #Ebola treatments for the outbreak in DRC - in addition to the vaccine. However, while we have fairly good data showing the vaccine(s) might work, I'm highly skeptical that any of the drugs will.https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-018-05205-x …
I have not seen any studies that convincingly show efficacy for any of the drugs (including ZMapp). That said, we clearly need more studies and the current outbreak presents an opportunity - plus, of course, there are mechanistic reasons why the drugs *might* work.

Agree on more studies, but they need to be done well-Both the siRNA and zMAPP trials had many weaknesses principal of which where inclusion criteria. Bar was incredibly high-probably too high for any candidate to have a chance, but understandably so given the circumstances...

Completely agree. Let's hope we'll get some much needed data from the current outbreak - and of course, therapeutics that work.
