These time limitations are quite annoying for a person like me doing a second postdoc. First funding agencies, now job searches.

Where is this from? Ridiculous! Plus they're selecting for postdocs who came into already existing projects, as opposed to building stuff up from the ground. I'm an example of somebody who would have been excluded under the 4-year rule. Does that make me less qualified?

Postdoc training is currently schizophrenic: should do research on a new topic area/focus and establish a novel system/platform, but be sure to get the kinks worked out in 2 yrs or less so you can get $$. Oh and you got one shot to get it right.

Yup, very true - doesn't make ANY sense. I wish this particular university the best of luck with their search - they are clearly delusional.

A major Northeast university - you can find in Nature Jobs. Apparently it would indeed make you less competitive in their eyes.
