This is a fairly comprehensive overview of the earliest US cases. Or you could stop reading after disagreeing with the semantics in the embedded image. It's not suggesting single lineage introduction and expansion. Just describing the nature of the first event.
I agree - the overview is nice and I provided some comments to a few journalists earlier today mentioning as much. However, I'm deeply concerned about headlines like this - that is not actually what the studies show (as summarized in this one).

I appreciate all you do, kga. And I agree. The phrasing in the embedded graphic may be technically correct, but is ripe for misinterpretation. I didn't see it until after the Twitter embed, and am disappointed that it may detract from a pretty solid overview of early cases.

My concerns are increased by comments made by CDC leadership earlier today also misrepresenting what these studies show: https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/29/health/cdc-director-coronavirus-early-spread-us-bn/index.html … We all know what is at stake here and what the political agenda is - so it's critically important we stick to the science.
