Test, Trace, Isolate - it's been said from day 1. We knew this worked for other viruses, we now know it works for SARS-CoV-2 to. I don't know what we're waiting for here in the US - there are no acceptable alternatives.

Are you saying that in most locations 1% of the population have antibodies and that the death rate appears to be 2-3% of those infected? If the infection rate is that low, can someone comment on the data from NYC which suggests 1/5 of the population have + serology results?

Term by term: IFR is the number of dead per ALL infections. It is around 1%-probably a tiny bit lower. Thus 1 dead person = 100-120 infected. Cases are known cases--these are the people test positive which doesn't catch everyone sick -- so the CFR is higher than the IFR.

Broadly speaking there are two types of tests - 1 tells you if you have covid-19. The other tells you if you've had it, if you've developed antibodies. This refers to the second. Studies suggest that only 5% of the population have had Covid-19 in Spain, Italy, Sweden. 1/
