There’s no data suggesting it was cultured + the RBD you find in pangolins and the furin site is lost during culture. The prior for zoonotic jump vs lab is also much greater. So while you can’t formally prove one over the other, there’s no question it’s natural.

But host adaptation expts in animals, such as ferrets would be very different to results from cell culture right?

Yes - but again with a much lower prior (+ we know of no such experiments having been ongoing). Because you find all the 'unusual' features of this virus in nature and you have strong priors, there's no reason to invoke culture.
