What I'm actually most pessimistic about is the test, trace, isolate now or year 1. I just don't see any evidence the U.S. is building that capacity at the needed scale.
Test, trace, isolate is a requirement for our ability to open up IMO, and, most importantly, have some strategies to remain open for longer. Without that capacity in place I just don't see how we can move forward.

I think we dropped tracing a while ago， hesitated isolating till late stage，and struggled with testing till now.

Correct. These are all things that *need* to happen, but yeah, nowhere near happening at the level they need to.

I agree with you but I just read testing capacity is actually going down in many places? And we need an army of contact tracers, who’s hiring and training them? I’m super concerned about these things because of exactly what you’re saying.

Aren’t we also going to need to have a nationwide database created to aggregate data? It takes time to create an RFP, then the wait to receive bids, then awarding the contract, etc.
