There's a plausible mechanistic reason why this might work by dampening an overactive immune system. I believe some trials are ongoing in Italy - @kallikourdis?

It’s interesting for sure but hard to evaluate value without a reference point from control groups.

Proper trial starting within days in italy, word on the wards that dozens of patients tried so far, works in half. Can't verify the above, but we'll soon find out, as the turnover is unfortunately quite quick. Off-label usage expanding, this I can confirm first-hand.

There was one repurposed covid19 use, in Naples, anecdotally successful. Roche Italy said they will now give it out for free for this use. I think it wd counter the elevated IL-6 that distinguishes non-survivors in the recent chinese Lancet paper. Can find out more if u need.
