Where are the latest #nCoV2019 genome sequences from China? Now is the time we might expect to be able to use them to estimate transmission rates but... tumbleweed

I believe they are being hosted GISAID @AIDigest https://www.gisaid.org  that’s also where all the latest influenza strains are kept - NCBI’s data unfortunately is not as well curated or updated.

But you’ll note there aren’t so many from China

Probably saving them for publications after seeing everyone else using their data for personal gain (bioRxiv and other publications)

I think maybe simple logistics could explain the absence. Wuhan has been under a lockdown for a few weeks now, so it's plausible that sequencing is currently too challenging and samples can't be shipped out.

Hard to say, but quite plausible. My guess, with zero insider info, is that with a large virology research institute in the city and a large set of clinical samples that some virus sequencing is ongoing.
