Y'all got examples of virus mutations that may have impacted an outbreak (or were perceived to be)? I'm well versed in mosquito-borne viruses (and know of the ebola one), but struggling outside of that realm. Especially examples in influenza, which i don't know as much about.

Diving into SARS now, which are great examples of mutations/indels that arise during an outbreak, but so far I'm not really convinced that any of these had a bonafide impact on transmission. reading more

@Baric_Lab and others - I think the evidence is strong (which surprised me).
