I am not criticizing the science, but the marketing of this project went well beyond hype as the frontline between humans & an End of Days plague. The program was in DRC all 10 years & more than a few deadly outbreaks happened there during that time. Were any predicted?
Yup, totally agree all around. And yes, you’re right that it wasn’t defunded - it just wasn’t renewed. Problem is, the program still exists (with the same hyped marketing campaign), but with different names (e.g., PREEMPT, GVP, etc.).
Completely agree. I was referring to the article regarding the de-funding. It said that the program had been cut. It reached the end of its term & ended. There is a huge difference between ending & being cut. PMI, TB, HIV, MCH may be cookie-cutter but saved millions of lives.
