How do you like to get in the mood to write a really stinging rebuttal?

1. Determine key points wanted by editor/reviewer 2. Put each point the reviewer makes into a separate box 3. Put down one-liners for each point 4. Wait a day 5. Repeat 1 & 3 6. Wait a day 7. Write response 8. Make sure you address EVERY SINGLE point
And goes without saying - when you can respond with new data, figures, analyses, do so. If the rebuttal is all about arguing with reviewers and restructuring text, it won’t be successful. You need to turn reviewers around first, then the editor. Fail at former and it’s a no go.
