El niño? We're going through this cycle again, so I have been wondering a lot lately whether we'd start seeing an uptick in vector borne diseases - including, also, Zika.

Good point. Lots of biological/ecological reasons for the increase. Hopefully a grad student of mine can get down there soon to start working on DENV. Such a fascinating virus(es).
