Does anyone have a favorite tool for managing their lab's NGS datasets? Things like curation of metadata, location of backups, links to public databases, etc etc. I feel a spread sheet just isn't going to cut it anymore.

No, this is just from our lab 'manual' and me obsessing in LucidChart. No fixed SOP in place, but we discuss frequently about how to implement (which might be slightly different from person to person). The key is that the data is public facing - forces you to organize it... ;)

Nice chart. I use Xmind to similarly visually organize and link concepts and data. I can actually link the individual file folders to labels, like the ones in your chart.
