Dear University, for all your talk of work-life balance, you sure expect me to attend a lot of events on weekday evenings, Saturdays, and between 7:30 and 9am.

Who doesn't enjoy going to open days at the weekends!
I recently got this from my institution “we’re considering hosting this in the evening so it won’t interfere with your schedule”...

It’s unfortunately a “no” from me.

My two favorites recently were teaching a course on Saturday and an 8am faculty meeting. Nope on both for me.

We have the quite useful Athena Swan system in UK to guard against some of this stuff.
