How should one refer to intrahost HIV diversity? I've always used "quasispecies" but I recall reading that this has a specific evolutionary connotations that doesn't match that of HIV.
Perhaps @ElEarlyBird or @K_G_Andersen can straighten me out here?

‘Intra-host diversity’ is good. For a quasispecies you need to prove that selection acts on the population as a whole and there is zero evidence for that in HIV, nor in any virus in nature as I can tell

. You could also refer to a “viral cloud” if necessary - but I typically just mention intrahost diversity (intrahost single nucleotide variants - or ‘iSNVs’ (my proudest contribution to science..))
