All harshness aside, I find it interesting that a new genus of ebolavirus was discovered, and I agree that this lends credence to bats as the reservoir for this family. That said, these studies DO NOT justify the hype the authors tried to drum up. No relevance for Ebola disease.

I'm interested in what you think regarding the conclusions made from the delink between BOMV genome copies and arthropod mito DNA.. surely consumption/digestion do not follow the same kinetics as viral replication. Is it enough to discount insects/arthropods as possible sources?
