All harshness aside, I find it interesting that a new genus of ebolavirus was discovered, and I agree that this lends credence to bats as the reservoir for this family. That said, these studies DO NOT justify the hype the authors tried to drum up. No relevance for Ebola disease.
See how I said 'genus'? Yeah, I get stuff wrong too (a lot - just don't tell anybody!) when it comes to ebolavirus phylogeny - I, of course, meant to say species 
That is nice. There are some phylogenetic trees of each gene. They all look quite similar. And have more synonymous changes than non-synonymous. Good thing it was under embargo for so long.
