Every so often I have a day of just bioinformatics work and I realize that I basically got a PhD in endlessly installing dependencies and then forgetting what I set out to do eight hours ago.

Yes! Create an environment.yml for each project with just the stuff you need (including specific versions of stuff). Then you can just switch between environments.

How about yesterday I was racking my brain because my python script wasn’t work in my Conda env... oh yeah, I had to call python2.7, not python! Doh! It’s always something!
